Hello there. This is Yijing, currently working on her PhD at the Department of Network and Data Science, Central European University. She received her Master’s from the School of Information, University of Michigan, where she developed research interests around social media, social networks and online political communication.
Some of the questions she thinks about every other day:
- Whether and how our observations of (politically active) online subset capture a meaningful slice of our offline surroundings?
- Are these online (visible) folks a more polarized subset?
- Are our behaviors more polarized (segregated) than our underlying opinions?
- Whether and how we can bridge the measurements of polarization across different conceptualizations and datasets?
- Of whom and of what are we contemporararies (G. Agamben)?
- Tea or coffee?
You can find her latest cv here. She tweets occassionally on random events. When she is not online or working on research, she tries to write a little and cook more. She can be reached via yijing2022 at gmail dot com.
